Storecasting: Empty Space in Nolita, Wine Shops Emerge Uptown, Helio Lands In Soho, Meatpacking Soon To Be Bursting At The Seams

It's time now for a look ahead—so we're going to take a moment now to run down some stores looming on the horizon. Everyone comfortable? Let's start.
1) Nolita: A tipster sends in an image (above) of an empty storefront located in prime real estate territory on Elizabeth Street just south of Houston. The question is, who will take the space? Thoughts, anyone? We think a precious, overpriced boutique is in order. [Racked Inbox]
2) Harlem & Morningside Heights: Wine stores are popping up all over the place above 110th St. Harlem Fur has the news of two projected openings—one on Frederick Douglass and 116th Street in Harlem, the other on Amsterdam and 112nd in Morningside Heights. [Harlem Fur]
3) Soho: Mobile company Helio, who have been getting little to no buzz in the press, will be opening a 2,300 square-foot "Apple-store-type" flagship on Broadway and Houston sometime in the near future. We doubt that the store will have anything on Apple's masterpiece, but hope to be proven wrong. [The Real Deal]
4) Nolita: A tipster sends an image, and this note "This is the space on Prince Street that had the Cybelle statue [ed. note: meaning that 16-ft-tall bronze woman with the multiple boobs and butts] outside until recently. Karen Millen is taking the space. There's a funky street art display on the windows right now." [Racked Inbox]
5) Meatpacking: NoMeat is set to rival Soho for shopping venues (and the tourists they attract) with a few upcoming openings. High-end clothing brand Ports 1961 is slated to debut at 3 Ninth Ave while shoe purveyor Iris is setting up shop at 827 Washington Street between Gansevoort and Little West 12th Streets. 6) Meatpacking: Also slated for west of Ninth Ave is Poleci. The store was supposed to throw open its doors this past Saturday, but fans of the sophisticated line are going to have to wait another six weeks. [Racked Inbox]
