We've got two closing for you this AM. Ladies and gentlemen, kindly silence your cell phones for the double feature and please enjoy the show.
1) West Village: In theater one, we have (fuzzy) photographic proof that Tao {the art of} Living is closing, per signage above. The tiny home decor shop on Bank and W. 4th looks pretty cleaned out already, but if big pillows with coral embroidery or shell lamps are your thing, get there while the getting's good. Just don't go in the rain, per signage at right. [Racked Staff]
2) And for today's second feature, from the increasingly popular sad-but-true genre, we can comfirm the rumor that Art of Cooking, the rustic chef store at 555 Hudson Street, is closing. The store will continue to exist on the Interweb, but is packing up shop on April 22nd. After a quick presto-change-o, the space will become children's clothier City Cricket. West Village kids will have stylish duds, certainly, but parents will have to look elsewhere for a nonstick brownie pan. What would Jane Jacobs, who once lived at 555 Hudson Street, have to say, hmm?
