Sohover: Hollister Will Indeed Plant A Flagship On Broadway
Tuesday, August 28, 2007, by Leslie Price
We had one of those glorious "I told you so" moments this morning when we read in WWD that it would indeed be Hollister taking over the space in Soho at 600 Broadway that currently houses a Pottery Barn. Frequent readers of the site may recall that we broke this story on August 3rd, only to change our tune slightly when WWD reported eleven days later that it would be an Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister's parent company.
Today, they attempt to save face: "Abercrombie & Fitch Co. said Monday that it will open a Hollister Co. flagship at 600 Broadway in New York's SoHo in spring 2009. This confirms a WWD report Aug. 14 that an A&F deal was in place at that location." Right. Well, consider yourself warned, New York. Soho will soon be home to a Hollister . It's really all downhill from there.
