Remember those renderings of an Apple Store for 34th Street? Today, buried in a Post article about the American Eagle Outfitters slated for the HoJo's space in Times Square is an odd phrase about the gadget company: "[Jeff] Sutton owns American Eagle's current flagship at 40 W. 34th St., as well as other major flagships rented to Armani, Abercrombie & Fitch and American Girl. Another property on 34th Street was rented to Apple." What? Well, thing is, although Apple did rent space on 34th Street, we hear that they are not opening an outpost there. It makes sense: Jobs certainly wouldn't want the grime of 34th Street sullying his jewel box of a store. Sorry to disappoint.
