As we've previously reported, Canadian-born luxury brand Ports 1961 is readying their U.S. flagship at 3 Ninth Avenue between Little West 12th and Gansevoort Streets for a February reveal. The interesting thing about the construction here is that the Ports people have erected an incredibly tall wall of black plywood to hide their work from the view of passersby. A Racked correspondent went the extra mile the other day and somehow got a camera past the ply to snap two photos. Though the state of the interior of the space is impossible to determine from the pictures, the crumbling exterior of the building is clearly visible. Let's hope that Ports has a crack team at work here, because they've only got two months to take this from mess to success.
