Remember the "late summer" opening for Ikea in Red Hook? Cross that out. Word has just come in from Ikea Corporate HQ that the huge Ikea in Red Hook, which we recently had an extended inside and outside look at, is opening on June 18! That would be about two months sooner than many people had been talking about. A press release says that the opening is 9AM on June 18, which is a Wednesday. The release cites "excellent progress on construction" and confidence work will be done by mid-June.
