If you've been following the saga of New Amsterdam Market, the organization that wants to preserve one of the historic Fulton Fish Market buildings in the Financial District as a public market, you know that developer General Growth properties is also vying for the public's fresh food love with a market of their own. Dubbed the Fulton Stall Market, it is in no way affiliated with New Amsterdam and is located at 11 Fulton Street in the building that currently houses the Bodies exhibit. Above, a rendering of what could be from SHoP Architects, the group GGP has hired to help redevelop South Street Seaport. Though all we have to go on right now is this rendering, the Fulton Stall Market is actually up and running seven days a week. And what a bucolic, fresh-flower-filled paradise we imagine it to be.
