The Boho Bodega, an eco-friendly pop-up shop situated on the border of Soho and Nolita at 220 Lafayette Street, breaks the usual boundary between green and convenient. The stripped-down space features organic, responsibly produced toiletries, cosmetics, and food products. Items include paper towels, adorable totes adorned with "I [heart] Boho" (there's an actual heart), granola and granola bars, various beverages, a variety of Kiss My Face products and much more.

The idea behind the temporary store is to make environmentally-friendly products accessible and affordable. The prices certainly help, especially since we're talking about inventory usually sold at places like Whole Foods: 99 cent toilet paper? Granola for $1.50? Yes, please! In the effort to make New Yorkers more aware of their options, the shop is holding lectures and events throughout its five-day stay (it closes Sunday, October 25.) The lectures might double as product placement—when we stopped by, sponsors and Kiss My Face founders Bob MacLeod and Steve Byckiewicz were promoting the "efficacy and quality" of their cosmetics—but it's all for a good cause. Speaking of causes: All proceeds from the shop will be donated to a variety of charities including Boho Bodega's non-profit choice, the Council on the Environment of New York City (CENYC).—Lauren Frankfort
