RackedWire: Shepard Fairey Paints the Town Red; Only Hearts Relives Recent History
Friday, October 30, 2009, by Izzy Grinspan

TIMES SQUARE—Last night, in front of a crowd of fans, Shepard Fairey created a mural for the Levi's store at Broadway and 44th Street. He did not, however, create a mural on the Levi's store at Broadway and 44th Street. Instead, he assembled a collage on a panel that was later attached to a much larger work currently wrapping the shop. The full mural measures 68 feet in length. If you want to see it, get there before November 5th, when the store returns to its normal naked state. [Racked Inbox; Previously]

NOLITA—Vintage lingerie is such a catch-22: Potentially amazing, but also potentially pre-worn. This weekend, Only Hearts cuts right through the paradox with a pop-up shop starring unused, limited-edition pieces from its lingerie and ready-to-wear archives. Dating back to the 1970s and running through the '80s and the early '90s, the collection should help you find your inner Farrah, Madonna, or Cindy Crawford, depending on what era of sexy you're trying to channel. The shop, at 230 Mott between Prince and Spring, opens Sunday and will stick around through the holidays. [Racked Inbox]
