In the new print issue of Grazia, the editors allege that France's ever-chic supermodel first-lady Carla Bruni Sarkozy wore—wait for it—nude pantyhose during her public appearance on Bastille Day in Paris.
While closely marvelling at the smooth, elegant and flawless perfection of Carla Bruni-Sarkozy's legs last week, we noticed a telltale—albeit very subtle—sheen. Yes (we thought, as we punched the air), Carla was wearing skin-coloured tights. She isn't so perfect after all. This got us to talking about tan tights, an item of clothing so in need of a makeover that they have metaphorically been in a suburban rehab center for roughly two decades.OMG, right?
We immediately trawled the internet looking for evidence of Bruni-Sarkozy's hosiery fashion-gaffe. But, to be honest? We can't tell a shred from photos online. So we're just going to have to take the eagle-eyed Grazia editors' word for it (pinch of salt, too).
Anyway, Grazia says they've caught out a bunch of celebs—including Claudia Schiffer, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Beyonce—all wearing fleshtone tights. Grazie even knows where they got 'em: Wolford. According to a company spokesperson, they all wear Wolford Luxe 9 tights—which run $30 a pair at Bergdorf Goodman—which give them the benefit of looking like they have perfect legs (no weird marks or discolorations!), but are so sheer you can hardly tell they're there.
Consider our minds officially blown.
