Monday Night Football took on a whole new meaning as Victoria's Secret Angels Chanel Iman and Erin Heatherton, plus New York Jets quarterback and Broadway music lover Mark Sanchez and New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs dropped by the Soho VS Pink outpost to celebrate the launch of the new and ridiculously synergistic VS Pink NFL collection. As the fabulous four mingled with the media inside the store, fans about one hundred strong were already queuing up outside for autographs and photos ops.
The line of VS Pink branded NFL team paraphernalia is basically a way for football fans of the female persuasion to finally wear team gear that's flattering (and at times bedazzled) and, of course, for those faux-fans to wear something cute to ESPN Zone to attract attention of fans of the male persuasion. And as a perfect example, Erin and Chanel were looking pretty hot in their sports tees.
VS Angel Erin Heatherton, however, is not a poseur—she's a tried and true sports fan. "I was raised on sports, I grew up listening to Mike and Mike in the Morning, watching them on TV, sports radio in the car, and I was raised with sports," she tells us. "I was an athlete myself. I played basketball competitively in high school...I ran track. And they [sports] were such a big part of my life growing up and really make me who I am today."
Sports are also a relaxation tool for the Jets baby-tee sporting model, "Like when I have time and I’m not working, to sit at home and watch a game is the most relaxing thing to me...to take you away from working, and take you away from fashion...." By the way, Erin's favorite player is Mark Sanchez—what a coincidence.
Mark Sanchez (who the uninitiated may remember as quite possibly the only football player in recent history to present at the Tony Awards) and Brandon Jacobs arrived shortly the supermodels. We heard lots of "oh my god, he's soooo hot" as Mark walked toward the spotlight. It was also kind of awesome to watch the Jets quarterback pose with a blinged-out football with "PINK" bedazzled—in pink—on the side.
Chanel Iman, in a Giants tee accessorized with navy Louboutins, is a self-professed football fan, too. She even played running back for a flag football team in high school. (Extremely impressive, but the image just makes us want to scream, "just not the face!")
To conclude, we just had to ask Chanel the hard-hitting and tissue paper thinly-veiled question that's on the mind of all football and supermodel aficionados these days. If Chanel was dating a really hot quarterback, would she consider making him change his hair? To our relief, Chanel answered, "No, I mean, I think that I would not make anyone change. I think that?I believe in being yourself and that’s the most sexy to me. Changing and doing something different? I mean, it’s great for a different change....but just being yourself is the most sexy thing that a man can be."
