On the Fashion Rage scale, this barely rates a 6.5, but still we were shocked and surprised to see the charming and mild-mannered Eric Wilson of the New York Times call out Vogue editrix Anna Wintour in print.
Remember that scene in The Devil Wears Prada where Miranda Priestly gets in an elevator and the woman who was previously inside immediately vacates? Well, turns out that sort of deference in real life isn't even necessary—because when you're Anna Wintour, you get elevators specially reserved for you, even at The Plaza Hotel. Even when there are hordes of other fashion editors patiently waiting to go upstairs.
Wilson writes:
At 6 p.m., editors and buyers were lined up in the lobby of the Plaza Hotel, waiting for one of two elevators to ferry them to grand ballroom on the third-floor for the Thakoon show. Ding. The doors of one were held open, but the guests were told to wait.In other fashion week news, "Ngh" is our new favorite sound.A couple of minutes later, Anna Wintour and company breezed in and took the vacant elevator. Ngh. You get used to it.
