On Saturday morning, two female employees were found in the back of a Bethesda area Lululemon store—one injured, bound, and sexually assaulted 27-year old and the body of 30-year old Jayna Murray. According to police reports, the women had closed the store Friday night around 9 p.m., but had returned to retrieve something left behind. That's when police believe two men entered the store, raped and/or sexually assaulted both women and killed Murray. There were no surveillance cameras in operation at the time and only one eyewitness, the survivor. The Gazette reports:
"We do believe robbery was part of the motive here, but we haven't been able to clarify what was taken," Capt. Paul Starks, a police spokesman, said. The Bethesda Lululemon is situated right next door to the Apple store—which was hosting the launch of the iPad 2 the same night. A tipster tells us that all Lululemon stores in the Maryland and DC area are closed today."We can't rule out [the crime] was random, but the suspects were clearly prepared to do something. They had gloves and masks with them," Starks said. "Whether they had planned to rob the store, or planned to commit some other type of crime, we do not know."
