Time for another installment of Racked National's travel feature, Summer Fridays, where we show you snapshots from the fabulous adventures of fabulous people in the fashion industry. So come with us, take a little breather on this Friday, and let us whisk you away to a faraway (and sometimes near) locale.
This week's Summer Fridays postcard is from native New Yorker Eva Chen, who recently went to Rome with Fendi. Chen studied at John Hopkins University and Columbia University's School of Journalism before earning her stripes at Elle and Lucky. Currently Chen is the Special Projects Editor and Beauty and Health Director at Teen Vogue, where she oversees coverage for the magazine and website.
Eva Chen: On most holidays, I’m That Girl: lagging behind, slack-jawed, snapping photos, and buying countless souvenirs. A total and utter consummate tourist! My recent trip to Rome with Fendi, however, was like Extreme Tourist: Italian Edition. I got a tour through ancient cobblestone streets on a vintage Vespa! (The other option was a Jason Bourne-style Fiat.) I threw up a peace sign at the Spanish Steps! I ate eighteen tons of cacio e pepe pasta! All dreams come true, of course, but the ultimate experience? A VIP tour of Fendi’s fur studio where, being the tourist that I am, I of course tried on all the Fall/Winter sumptuousness. La Dolce Vita, indeed!
