Back in May, Express announced it was going in for some work—an industrial facelift, to be precise. Behold the results in today's WWD—a new-look prototype currently debuting at the King of Prussia mall in Pennsylvania and the Kenwood Towne Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The revamped layout features a "denim lab," a runway down the center of each store, and a clear division meant to help customers better discern between the brand's four collection themes. According to WWD:
Masamichi Katayama, interior designer, founder and principal of Wonderwall, created the prototype. Express knew him from the Colette and Uniqlo stores he created in Paris and were impressed by the style. “It’s modern, a bit edgy, with a real elegance in terms of materials. It’s downtown space with uptown finishes,” said [President and CEO Michael] Weiss.· Express unveils new prototype [WWD]
