We really can't put into words how tired we are of hearing Tyra Banks talk about "smizing," let alone that she even began saying it in the first place, but now she's gone ahead and done an interview with ABC News to promote her new book, Modelland. And guess what? She wore some type of smize-thing on top of her eye.
The book is just one (just one!) out of three in Tyra's fantasy trilogy, about magic supermodels who go to some amazing supermodel school and are called Intoxibellas, which we doubt is the only word in the book that she's made up.
If you're not in the mood to watch Tyra act out how she got carpal tunnel syndrome from penning the next great American novel in the video below, here's a few of her best lines.
On the thing on her eye and the plot of her book:
"At Modelland, this fantasy world that I've created for my novel, if you find one of these, which I call a 'smize,' it increases your chances of getting into the most exclusive school in the entire world, the school that creates the most amazing supermodels called 'Intoxibellas.' It increases your chances by 91%.
On the books inevitable, dramatic conflict:
"There's four girls that make it into the school that are not supposed to be in there, because they have different kind of looks that the school is like, 'What's goin' on?'"
On staying in the dorms while enrolled at Harvard Business School:
You have no idea, I was freaking out. But now I would not have it any other way. I have bonded with these people, we're eating together, we're in our pajamas."
On her website where anyone can do just about anything, typeF.com:
"The website is about personalization. You can go on the website, and you can say, 'My name is Robert Roberts, I'm this tall, my face is this shape, my eyes are this color, my hair is short, da da da, I like a little purple eyeshadow, and then we'll start giving you articles based on who you are, to make you feel special."
And did we mention the book cover is of a smize? Yep, happy Friday.
