Yesterday designer Wayne Lee hosted the resort 2012 presentation for her eponymous line Wayne. This is the first time Lee produced a resort collection and the modern backdrop of the courtyard at the Cooper Square Hotel's The Trilby was the perfect venue for her minimal designs.
You may remember Lee from our Summer Fridays feature on her recent vacation to Saint Maarten. Well, that trip was the inspiration for this collection. The "vibrant blues and sand-washed" colors of the Caribbean island returned in the form of matte jersey draped halter tops, asymmetrical dresses, and silk jumpsuits.
Lee, who is very pregnant and due next month in August, graciously walked us through the collection as we sipped on a Bulldog gin madras—definitely helpful for getting into the resort mood. The collection ranges from $265 to $495 and will be available exclusively at Barneys New York in late November. Take a sneak peek at all 18 pieces in our photo gallery above with helpful descriptions and prices. You'll be able make your wish list. And check it twice!
