Costello Tagliapietra presented their spring 2012 collection yesterday afternoon at Milk Studios, and let's just say that was one interesting front row. Did you know that Simon Doonan is really into Western-style hats right now? Neither did we, until we saw a scruffy Doonan sitting beside America's Next Top Model savior Ms J. Alexander. Add Corinne Bailey Rae, Lady Fag and someone who may or may not have been Johnny Weir, and you've got quite the bunch.
As far as the collection goes, it's exactly what you'd expect from the brand: very pretty. The New York Times has been talking all about how we're going to be seeing a lot of sleeves this season thanks to Kate Middleton, but the bearded duo behind Costello Tagliapietra have been doing that for a while now, so get with the times, Times. In short, the silks were beautiful, the prints complimentary, and the backs of the dresses open in some way (a slit) shape (a low scoop) or form (totally bare). Plus, it's pretty hard to top all that intricate drapery. We picked ten of our favorite looks and put them after the jump.
