Yesterday, we stopped by the Highline Stages for Yigal Azrouël's fall 2012 show, and what we found was a wardrobe straight out of the closet of the coolest girl you know. And perhaps for a good reason: Yigal's inspiration for the collection was French singer/actress Françoise Hardy. To that, he explained in the show notes that "the Yigal Azrouël woman plays with the duality of masculine and feminine, public versus private, strength and sensitivity."
The dresses were knee-length and loose, though still crisp and clean, and the lambskin was masculine in jacket-form and more feminine when it appeared on a dress. Plus, a good amount of the models came out in sunglasses, fur bear-trapper hats, or—the slightly questionable—boots with the fur. Check out the gallery above for some highlights.
