The Downtown Abbey effect was unmistakable this Runway season, but no designer embraced it quite as whole-heartedly as Ralph Lauren. With the Downton theme song as a soundtrack, his girls walked the runway in English tweeds, traditional plaids, three-piece suits, and, just for kicks, top hats and walking sticks. The vibe was less Lady Mary, more Earl of Grantham—but Ralph Lauren has always had a knack for making menswear-inspired looks feel chic and feminine. Behold the Edwardian glory in the gallery above, or, for full theme-song effect, watch the video after the jump.
