New nail polish company Julep has a smart way to get buzz for their products—they've named their polishes after famous actresses. And since the Oscars are this Sunday, they've named polishes after some of the Best Actress nominees. But only some of them.
Julep has polishes named for Meryl (slate gray), Glenn (red), and Viola (dark purple), and even the gold Oscar statue himself (gold glitter, obvs), but fellow nominees Michelle Williams and Rooney Mara have been left out in the cold. There are lots of shades named after past winners, like Rachel Weisz and Nicole Kidman, but the Michelle/Rooney burn has to hurt even more considering that never-even-got-nominated-and-in-some-cases-aren't-even-actresses stars like Ellen DeGeneres, Gayle King, and Pippa Middleton also get their very own polishes.
Let's make this easy for Julep, shall we? Rooney would obviously be a slick black shade that wouldn't look out of place on Lisbeth Salander. And since red is already taken, Michelle's hue can be a sparkly nude that reminds us of Marilyn Monroe's "Happy Birthday Mr. President" dress. And don't you think "Racked.com Red" has a nice ring to it? We'll let you guys mull it over.
