Comedy writer Bonnie Datt once bought a chainmail vest "for clubbing"—a purchase she later came to lament, once she realized that chainmail wasn't particularly slimming. Inspired by this, she now spends her spare time asking famous people to dish about purchases which they initially loved—but ended up regretting, for Buyer's Remorse.

The beautiful British actress and singer India de Beaufort has had a long and varied career in the UK, including our favorite of her credits, Dances With The Teletubbies (she was only eleven years old at the time). In this country India's best known as one of the stars of the ABC Family show, Jane By Design. When we asked India if she could think of something she'd had Buyer's Remorse about, she didn't hesitate for a second and immediately told us about a Victorian riding coat she'd bought which seemed pretty amazing—at first...
Racked: India what have you had Buyer's Remorse about?
India de Beaufort: I just bought a coat, and usually with vintage I don't buy too expensive, but I spent a good amount on this red velvet Victorian riding coat. I thought it was a genius idea, and on the hanger it looks absolutely stunning. Then I got it home and it was a velvet that was unmanageable—it was a hot mess. My plan was originally to wear it out to Fashion Week, but it didn't make it out of my closet. And it will stayed buried there for a long time to come. Plus I stepped backwards in heels and put my foot through the back of it. And it went "cchhh"[she makes a ripping noise].
Racked: How long was it?
India de Beaufort: To the floor, but now I cut it and took it up, to make it below the knee. It's awful. It's a mess. It was a mistake.
