In the spirit of all things beauty this week, we've asked a few of our favorite bloggers to plumb the depths of their memories and their medicine cabinets to answer our nosiest beauty questions. First up, Jessica Quirk, the brains and beauty behind the grandmother of daily outfit blogs, What I Wore. Below, she dishes on her her favorite products, her most traumatic childhood beauty disaster, and the best beauty advice she ever got from her mom.
What’s your favorite dirt cheap beauty buy?
I love Burt's Bees Lemon Cuticle Cream. It's only a few bucks but lasts a very long time (even for addicts like me!)
What expensive product is worth the extra bones and why?
I tend to spend more on lipstick to get a longer lasting and more vibrant color.
What’s the wackiest beauty advice from your mom or grandma that you follow (or refuse to follow)?
I think it was all very good advice actually! Always take off your makeup at night, stay out of the sun, and drink lots of water.
Ever tried a beauty product and had it go very, very wrong?
When I was in 4th grade I didn't wash my Noxema off because I liked the way it smelled... until my little friend at the bus stop clued me in. It wasn't visible, but she could smell it too!
