Macaroons have reigned as the fashion crowd's indulgence of choice for many a season, but they're about to get a run for their money. An army of desserts is on its way to challenge the pastry's position as the treat du jour, as designers all over the spectrum are collaborating with confectioners to create chic treats for spring. And you're not hearing any complaints from Racked HQ.
First, Betsey Johnson, designed her very own Baked By Melissa cupcakes back in February for her Fall 2012 runway show. Needless to say, they were equally as pink, sparkly, and sugar-coma inducing as her dresses.
Next, Alice + Olivia announced last week that they are partnering with Magnum ice cream to launch a line of mini ice-cream bars. Bonus: Stacey Bendet is designing a mini skirt inspired by the collab, and promises that it will be as compact and tempting as the dairy treats.
Godiva and Feed bags, so happy together. Via Accessorize magazine
And the latest dessert collaboration does you one better by making your sugary purchase a guilt-free one, too. Feed has partnered with Godiva to create a new round of bags, which are brighter and more patterned than your typical Feed fare and are made by a women's co-op in Liberia. Per standard FEED m.o., proceeds will go to school lunches in developing countries.
Feed founder Lauren Bush Lauren told us that she's excited about the bags because they're the most accessible ones yet at $25 a pop. Plus, "Who doesn't love chocolate? Especially women. Women love chocolate."
