Vogue's July issue features a comprehensive Met Gala recap, including the requisite party pics and a full page devoted to unlikely "It-Girl" (at least by Vogue's standards) Lena Dunham. The Girls creator was escorted to the ball by none other than the magazine's International Editor at Large Hamish Bowles. Like any good date, he picked Dunham up at her home in Tribeca and, upon arriving, promptly told her to change her shoes. Here's how he describes that:
"A pair of teetering somber-hued heels had been picked out for Dunham, but when I arrive to collect her at the Tribeca aerie of her paents, I noticed her beloved pair of Pepto-Bismol-pink Stella McCartney heels sitting proud in her closet and screaming "Schiap!" There was no contest. As they were far more edgy, and, frankly, far more comfortable, Dunham gleefully fell on the idea."
Thank God for Dunham's sake he liked her dress.
