Going swimming this weekend? Of course you are. While modern-day bombshells like Gisele Bundchen and her crew of Victoria's Secret Angels have popularized Brazilian cut bottoms and barely-there string tops, there are some designers who seemed to have found their swimwear inspiration from bombshells past. Take, for example, Nanette Lepore, whose beach looks feature flirty swim-skirt bottoms and lots of push-up action at the top. Or Norma Kamali, (the designer of that iconic Farrah Fawcett suit) who shares the sentiment with an uber-glam ruched one-piece. Get ready to salute the foremothers of bombshell-ing with these 13 retro-chic swimsuits. —Julie Chen
