The lawsuit Kim Kardashian filed against Old Navy for using a look-alike model back in a July 2011 TV ad has been settled out of court, according to WWD. Kardashian claimed that the use of Canadian singer Melissa Molinaro—who, in fairness, really does a lot like Kim—in the ad "created confusion in the marketplace" and violated her rights to her "name and likeness." Reportedly, Kim requested $20 million and a ban on look-alikes in the future.
In response, Old Navy parent company Gap Inc. threatened to launch an investigation into Kim's businesses and reputation to find out what her name and likeness is actually worth. The investigation was said to include a look at Kim's relationship with ex-boyfriend Reggie Bush; the amount Bebe and Sears earned through their partnership Kardashian, why Bebe ultimately dropped the the star, and Kardashian's "reputation as a singer and dancer."
The word has been eagerly awaiting the results of that probe, but sadly, WWD reports today it's not going to happen. "The lawsuit was resolved to mutual satisfaction of both parties, but beyond that it's the only statement we have," Kardashian's attorney told the trade publication.
