Ever wondered what Barbie would look like without her high-glam beauty routine? You're not the only one: Mexican artist Eddi Aguirre created this representation of Barbie without her makeup on: she has grown-out roots, bags under her eyes, and yellowed teeth. For good measure, he also added braces and what appear to be pimples, so now she just looks like an exhausted prom queen. [BuzzFeed]
This just in: Kiehl's is getting in on the BB cream insanity, but theirs will have something slightly different to offer - SPF 50, the strongest yet on the market. [Glamour's Twitter]
The Orly nail polish brand, currently #2 in the industry (ahead of Essie, behind OPI), has a big piece in WWD today about trying to stay independent instead of selling out to a bigger company. Among their big moves: dropping the giant "O" from their label (too much like Oprah), branching out into nail and hand care products (their rubberized base coat is a big hit), and changing the bottle caps from gray to black. [WWD]
Fun fact: WebMD, the site that you go to when you have a cold and want to convince yourself that it might be a rare form of cancer, has secretly had a beauty blog for some time now. The "Healthy Beauty" blog has articles about nail, skin, and hair care alongside quizzes and other standard WebMD fare. [StyleBistro]
Bond No 9, best known for its perfumes named after New York City landmarks and neighborhoods, will release the first-ever "digital perfume." The fragrance, the appropriately-named HTTP://WWW.BONDNO9.COM, will have a QR code on the bottle that you can scan from anywhere. The QR code will also appear in ads, so you can purchase it right then and there without even going online or into a store. [WWD]
Here's another thing to freak you out about airport security: some kinds of hand and body lotions that contain ammonium nitrate (spoiler: that's quite a few of them) might get you flagged during security screenings. First they take away our Starbucks cups, now this? [Fashionista]
