The last thing a newly minted FIT graduate wants (or anyone, really) is to be deemed uncool. Lucky for them, Rebecca Minkoff knows a thing or too about the art of cool—just look at her massive army of #minkettes—and she was willing to share a few tricks of the trade at FIT's commencement last Thursday.
"You know how we started listening to customers and no one thought it was cool? Today, we call that Facebook, and Twitter, and Instagram, and Pinterest—and Tumblr, for that matter. Now, if you have a brand and you don't have a presence on these platforms, you might be considered uncool. It's evidence that being the first to try something new or different has its perks."
