Leandra Medine of the The Man Repeller is just one of the many New York fashion folks who won't be participating in the first two days of shows/parties/general gallivanting around town in face-meltingly glorious clothes due to the overlap with the Jewish New Year. "My MO is to keep my phone off. I can't handle watching it on Instagram," she told the New York Post. Her second-in-command writer Amelia Diamond will take over while "Jewty calls" (Medine's words, obvs). So, sorry, fans of the Man Repeller's words and looks! We'll all have to keep our rabid voyeurism to ourselves until tomorrow night.
Okay, now, goodbye Internet and hello sweatpants and synagogue (but not in that order). Be nice to @amilli0naire.

In addition to Post's article this morning, Tablet touched base with several observant members of the fashion community before they left for their respective Rosh Hashanah obligations. The gist of both stories is that observant Jews are bound by God, while NYFW is bound by the international Fashion Month calendar. Neither are to be messed with.
