Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Attention all job seekers: Effective right this second, Racked National is on the hunt for a full-time features writer. Do have a passion for journalism, a nose for a good story and a drive to break news? Do you have blogging experience? Are you a self-starter who loves to work independently? This is the gig for you.
As the title implies, this position will involve dreaming up, writing and editing in-depth features, deeply-reported articles, trend pieces, interviews, proprietary photo tours and more. You must be a quick writer comfortable with real-time deadlines who can bring enthusiasm and interest to even the most dry (on paper) topics. A deep knowledge of fashion, retail and beauty is a requirement.
The job is full-time with salary commensurate with experience, health benefits and a matched 401(k). Candidates must be based in NYC. To apply, write a paragraph about yourself and a paragraph about why you're right for the gig and email it to jobs@racked.com, subject line "Racked National Features Writer." If you've got a personal blog, Tumblr, or Twitter, include links to those as well. No resumes, please. If we like what we see, we'll follow up quickly.
