Bradford Shellhammer, co-founder of Fab.com, has stepped down. This announcement comes nearly a month after the last vestiges of the flash sale site, Bradford's baby, was terminated along with 101 employees.
The split seems amicable on both sides with the other co-founder Jason Goldberg telling Forbes that, "Bradford came to the conclusion that he thought it was the right time, and I and the company agreed. I'm sad for my friend to go but I see the opportunity moving forward."
In a blog post Bradford says that he will remain a shareholder and "a non-executive advisor" to the company, adding that the world and people design things "need Fab." However:
Fab is at a point in its history where I've decided to walk away from the day to day. Though Fab's business model has evolved, the very core of Fab is where it was many years ago, when it was dreamt up by me and Jason in a restaurant in the West Village in the middle of our second bottle of wine. Fab remains set on a mission to brighten people's lives with design. I am a staunch believer in this mission. He Instagrammed a final, rainy view from Fab offices today.
