Nasty Gal founder Sophia Amoruso has taken her retail success and spun it into an inspirational book named #GIRLBOSS, now available for pre-order online. On the Nasty Gal site, Amoruso teases the book in badass terms, calling herself a "shoplifting anarchist." Amazon's preview isn't much different. "The first thing Sophia Amoruso sold online wasn't fashion – it was a stolen book," it reads. "She spent her teens hitchhiking, committing petty theft, and dumpster diving. By age twenty-two, she had resigned herself to employment, but was still broke, directionless, and checking IDs in the lobby of an art school—a job she'd taken for the health insurance."
The book hits stores May 6 and will contain gems of Amoruso wisdom such as, "Don't ever grow up. Don't become a bore. Don't let The Man get to you."
