Orange is the New Black star Taylor Schilling covers the latest issue of Allure, and the magazine, inventively, created a prison cell set for her photoshoot. The magazine breaks Schilling out of her frumpy inmate clothes for the shoot, dressing her instead in a sexy Eres swimsuit, a sable fur Zandra Rhodes coat, and Alexandre Birman high heels. The accompanying text reflects the weirdness of discussing OITNB's more graphic prison scenes and then, talking about makeup and hair. For instance, there's this moment where Schilling reflects on the most hair-raising moment she's shot for the show.
More disturbing [than anything else], the actress says, is appearing naked in the prison showers, for example, where one of the show's characters attempts to shank her. She calls it "one of the scariest scenes I've ever shot." For this photo—the cover shot—hairstylist Serge Normant created "glamorous but contemporary" finger waves. She also touches upon the cast's diversity, saying, "When we walk down the street, we see a huge variety of women, and that's just not usually reflected in entertainment—and yet this show does that."
