This Father's Day, get the (eco-friendly) dad-with-everything a recycled suit. Bagir's "Ecogir" suit, constructed of wool and about 30 recycled PET bottles picked up in Japan, will be available for $200 at Sears' US stores. "Bagir's suits will also be the first in the world to carry a carbon footprint label. [It] will help educate consumers to let them know how much greenhouse gas causing carbon dioxide emissions, or its equivalent, was created during the manufacturing and shipping process." This is in addition to Sears' recent news of partnership with LL Cool J to release a capsule collection as a "boost for the store's softer side." Uh huh. [Treehugger]
Witnessing the grab-fest that was the Barney's debut of Rogan for Target in NY and LA, we really did not know what to expect for the actual release at Target stores. Venturing out this morning to our naughty little secret, the Target Greatland in Jersey City, we found the best of the Go International collections out in abundance with plenty sizes and variety - take that frenetic Barney's shoppers of last week!
Guess what, young creatives! Some companies are beginning to realize that you don't live in Soho anymore, despite what the Frommer's guidebook tells them. This summer, Vespa will open new exclusive dealerships in both Greenpoint and Jersey City to supplement their existing showrooms in Fort Greene and Soho. The new Greenpoint Vespa spot at 33 Nassau Avenue and Dobbin St will be 5,000 square feet of Quadrophenia ecstasy, not to mention that it'll be underneath the new Triple Five Soul headquarters.
You can shop Target.com all you want, but nothing beats actually ogling and touching their private collection and various collaborations in person. This weekend Racked headed to the land of milk of honey (meaning department stores and 3% sales tax): Jersey City. Still within sight of the Empire State Building sits not just any Target, but the microcosm that is a Target Greatland. With only one week until the Rogan for Target debut at Barney's, and two weeks until it hits actual Target stores, we were flabbergasted to find so much detritus from past collaborations. Small pockets of everything from Loeffler Randall to DwellStudio popped up around the store, with even some Jovovich-Hawk jammed into the clearance racks.
Our frighteningly detailed review of the state of Target's Collections:

COLUMBUS CIRCLE—There's something afoot in the retail space of the Hearst Building on 56th Street and Eighth Ave. Bloggers Guerilla Shopper and The Shophound both noticed strange Anna Sui signage in one street-level window; curiously, the next features Catherine Malandrino papering. Is the UWS gaining another multi-designer boutique? Intel on the matter, if you have it, is appreciated. [Guerilla Shopper, The Shophound]
THE JERZ—The Starbucks excitement just doesn't end today. The Life Vicarious reports that the chain's planning to go 24hrs Wednesday through Sunday at its Newport outpost. "More and more Starbucks are adopting the 24 hours formula state-wide despite limited profits in the overnight hours; skeleton crews and cordoned-off sections are expected in the late night." [The Life Vicarious]
