Even though Soho's highly profitable summer of retail is just beginning, some stores are just not feeling the love from tourist dollars in time. Case in point: Soho Lab. Don't let the cheery "Now Closing!" sign on the window fool you; the interior is pretty bleak with half the store sold out and the detritus priced down to 50% off. This isn't the end of the brand, just their Soho location—and the beginning of explanations of their name that begin, "Soho isn't just a neighborhood, but a state of mind, dude..." You can still find Soho Lab shoes at existing Skechers stores, but call to the store revealed no plans for relocation.

Excellent news for those pondering a stop in at the Delman shoe sale in Chelsea: prices were lowered yesterday, only one day into the bonanza. Delmans in all sizes from 5.5 to 13 are now down to $60, $80 and $100, and we were told there are a few priced higher, but we didn't spot them. Dolls by Nina are an even better steal at $20. If you are reading this, get thee to Fifth Avenue! At 10am this morning, the ridiculously awesome Diane von Furstenberg Sample Sale resumes at 260 Fifth Ave between 28th and 29th Streets. Even if you've already been, today sees an enticing fresh shipment of 4,000 items and most likely a mosh pit of determined fashionistas. Plan your strategy: last night's rush hour line was a 45-minute wait around the block with girls trading war stories from visits earlier in the day.

Quite literally bargain basement, the ongoing Missoni sale in Soho is one of those rare small sales in NY where serious discount hunters can strike it big. Entering the bazaar-ish retail space at 440 Broadway, you then must locate the stairwell (it's back and to the right) and descend to a bare bones lower level where Missoni, Bill Blass, Cynthia Steffe and a few Diesel belts hang limply on so many racks like a garage sale. Missoni dresses max out around $600, and the scarves seem the best buy at $60-70 for silk cacophonies of color. The meager offerings from Cynthia Steffe are...meager. In the far corner, however, sits a treasure collection of Bill Blass skirt suits, in summer-perfect colors with sizes ranging from 2 to 14. For the dudes they've got a small bunching of Missoni briefs, dress shirts and lightweight windbreakers jackets. Sale kicked off yesterday, runs through Monday, May 12th.

Recent reconnaissance at the Tocca Sample Sale at 542 West 22nd Street revealed a spring selection ideal for the breezy days ahead. Surprisingly, the racks of clothing included a good range of everything from flippy skirts to airy silk blouses up to size 12. Check out the variety of children's clothing, all delicately patterned with soft florals or awash in something like the color of buttery sunshine. Highlights include $25 chic raffia bags, $50 one-of-a-kind vintage-inspired purses and $10 for Tocca's famed travel candles. The sale ends tomorrow at 7pm, so now is the time to stock up on discounted summer dresses, especially if you missed the Mayle sale.
