Despite an early rush when the doors opened this morning at 11am, the Oak Warehouse Sale underway on Bond and Lafayette Streets isn't a complete crowd scene. Though it should be—there are some serious bargains to be found. During our quick perusal of the merch, we saw a good amount of clothing for both men and women and some insane deals on footwear. Jeffery Campbell and F-Troupe pairs were $20, Charlotte Ronson sandals were $50, gorgeous Melanie Dizon heels ran $40 to $100, clunky-looking Palladium sneakers were $50 and Dr. Scholl's were incredibly affordable at $10.
On to the clothing: many really nice dresses were still a bit out of reach at $200 apiece (including some beautiful ones from United Bamboo), but Oak jeans for men and women were affordable at $50 per pair. There were a lot of Harmon pieces on the racks, and an extraordinary amount of men's button-down shirts. But right now shoppers are devouring the selection, so get over there soon if any of this sounded appealing to you.

Label:Catbird Deal:20 to 75% off pieces from lines like Anna Sui, Charlotte Ronson and Trovata When/Where:Ongoing. Mon—Fri 1—8pm; Sat, Sun noon—8pm. 390 Metropolitan Ave between Havemeyer and Marcy Sts, Williamsburg, Brooklyn (718-388-7688).
Really low prices, lots of selection: Now this, friends, is what we like to see at a sale. Charlotte Ronson, on today through Friday in a showroom off Bryant Park, does not disappoint. Racks were hung with summery dresses, tops, rompers and shorts all priced from $15 to $70 (tags boasted stickers that indicated cost). A table full of the designer's coveted 70's-inspired wedge heels in brown, tan and green leather sat by the front door; most of the shoes were priced in the $15 to $30 range, with a few falling above and below. There's bad news, though: The fitting room is practically nonexistent. Shoppers were made to change in a tiny kitchen off the hallway furnished with a cheap, funhouse-style mirror that stretches you out, with no place to hang their items. Best to bring an honest friend to this one.

Another Urban Outfitters collaboration has just been announced. In addition to working with Bing Bang, Steven Alan, Corpus and Charlotte Ronson, the chain's signed on jeweler Lisa Salzer of label Lulu Frost to do an accessory line. "Secret Garden by Lulu Frost [is] a 5-piece collection composed of three necklaces and two earrings. 'We're doing a lot of charms that allude to the theme, like a crystal ball, a bug, a leaf and a lock and key,' she said. Pieces will retail between $18 and $48, landing in stores and online in November." [FWD]
Nylon's scored the first look at Charlotte Ronson's line with Urban Outfitters, which is going by the name of Play by C. Ronson. "The clothes have the same casual vibe as the usual Charlotte Ronson attire, complete with flowy, flowery blouses and mini-dresses that take you from daytime to night without a wardrobe change. Our personal favorite is the Kermit-green double button sweater, which would go perfectly with jean shorts and wedges (another Ronson staple) after a day at the beach." The pieces are debuting in stores tomorrow. [Nylon]
The first half of Fashion Week has gone by fast, hasn't it? Let's take time now to look back at some of the most recent shows.

While we could do without Jill Stuart's recent ad campaign starring washed-up Lindsay Lohan, we heart the designer's fashion: the clothing is striking and the fitting is spot-on. Thus, we are particularly sad to report that her fall 2008 collection was a departure that left much to be desired. Like Rag & Bone, Jill often paired navy blue and black, but these clothes were more contrived than wearable. We understand fashion means moving in new directions, but sometimes you can't help loving a label for its consistency. Heavy velvet layering and shapeless dresses do not resonate like the flattering party dresses of her past collections.

Subtlety has never been Betsey Johnson's style. Her clothes are vibrant, fitted, in-your-face sexy, and her fall collection was no exception. She moved beyond the feisty floral dresses she's known for and incorporated more black, leopard print, and accessories. It's not exactly a look you're going to wear to the office, but, hell, it's Betsey! To complement her eighties-done-right apparel, she blared Cyndi Lauper's "She-Bop" as the leggy models strutted their stuff on the runway.

Label:Charlotte Ronson Deal:60% off girly yet oh-so-hip sweaters, blouses, pants and shoes When/Where:Wednesday, November 28th through Friday, November 30th. Daily 10am—6pm. 1071 Sixth Ave between 40th and 41st Sts (212-643-4810).
We've anticipated its opening throughout construction delays and questionable window displays, and now Blue & Cream is officially open for business. The new Bowery boutique opened on Monday stocking a strong, well-edited assortment of pieces. There seems to be an emphasis on dresses, ranging from sparkly numbers to solid sweater types. Lauren Moffat and Charlotte Ronson are two prominently featured brands, and there are also pieces by Tibi, Alexander Wang, Nicholas K, and Rag and Bone denim.
