Cole Haan Madison Avenue—Closed until November for remodeling
To celebrate their 80th Anniversary with something other than a sale on leather bags and shoes, Cole Haan has dreamt up a way to get you in the backseat. Catch a cab between September 5-10 and there is possibility that Cole Haan will be comping that ride. More specifically, cabs with "Lucky You" emblazoned on the side will be the chosen chariots, so keep your eyes peeled probably near Bryant Park or the Financial District.
Even though this sounds like a sweet deal, it is directly geared toward attendees of Fashion Week; Cole Haan's other bumps include random hotel upgrades, free drinks and meals at properties with an influx of stylish guests.. The promotions begin this week in San Francisco and Las Vegas to coincide with trade shows, but it is New York that should see the most taxi action.

Rackage is a look inside recently-opened stores around town. Today, let's browse West Village shoe and handbag emporium Plaza Too.
We so wanted to hate on Plaza Too when we first stepped inside the Hudson Street boutique. Exhausted by the West Village mallification—specifically, the overabundance of high-end handbag and accessories stores one street over on Bleecker—Plaza Too's cutesy window displays (at right) with expensive handbags looked like another blow to the neighborhood.
But once you get over the fact that it's another pricey retailer for the (wealthy) West Village, you can appreciate Plaza Too for what is: a little one-stop shop for some of the best shoes and bags we've seen in a long time.
