Storecasting: The Plaza Gets Seized

It's been some time since we've discussed the retail situation at the Plaza Hotel, mostly because the building's new crop of stores isn't filled with names that thrill and excite. The list, according to WWD, includes Assouline, Vertu, Marlise Dekkers and Qiviuk, "a knitwear brand that uses the inner down of the Canadian Arctic musk ox." Well, we wouldn't want the Russian billionaire residents getting cold, would we?

But there is one store not involved in the Canadian Arctic musk ox fur trade that we are anticipating: the uptown outpost of Nolita boutique Seize sur Vingt. Scheduled to open in a month, the 700-square-foot will feature an "exotic Wenge wood floor" and "bronze-toned lacquered millwork" (whatever that is) and will be stocked with the brand's well-tailored suiting and shirting. A shiny new rendering of the boutique is above.
